That's true. But at least Robert wouldn't be responsible for representing a country and his judgement is only going to be needed for what ingredients to use.
And unlike politicians his past really isn't that important to us for watching a TV show. It's obvious he's a great chef, I don't know why he would lie to begin with. Most people on TV, the average person doesn't know anything about their private life.
I wonder if he was offered this show or if he applied for it and was selected above others?
