I think even if you a causal viewer of Alton's shows (not a fanatic like me
) meeting him will be a great experience. My mom went with me and she loved the lecture and meeting him even though she's only watched a few episodes of Good Eats (mainly when I've forced her to watch).
Alton treats everyone so nice. He gives everyone, from the first person in line to the last, a handshake and "Hi, I'm Alton." And he actually carries on a conversation with you! I couldn't believe I managed to talk coherently in his presence.
