I highly doubt it. They're now in what, season 4 and it's still moving along.
And, all great chefs have assistants. I think you're being a little too hard on him.
And again, if i was a local expert on say, steak, I'd LOVE if it Flay showed up...even if I knew he was coming. And, if that's what ends up happening -- people expecting him.
As for the complaints that bobby wins sometimes -- he wins like a 1/3 of the time. And the reason he beats people at their speciality is because he's a great chef, probably the best in the country.
The fact is he's always gracious to the local cook and one of his missions is to show cooks around the country. that's the meaning behind the closing line.
