chef Old Fashion Buttermilk Biscuits

I got a recipe with my cast iron biscuit pan, it has
1 1/4 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup cake flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons unsalted butter plus 3 table spoons melted
1 1/4 cup buttermilk (this I think is way off)
1/4 cup all purpose flour

in order to get it to even come close to rolling out I had to add about another two cups of flour, so I am thinking it is the 1 1/4 cup of butter milk should have been 1/4 cup of butter milk

okay now to you bakers am I correct or is there something else I missed ?

I already wrote to Emeril because it came with his pan, but wanted some other opinons.
