bluejeanz is on a distinguished road
I plant an herb garden every year but I planted 3 tomato plants along with it this year 'just because'. My oregano, chives, mint, tarragon and thyme come up every year. I think I was a little heavy-handed last fall when I raked out all the dead leaves from the planting beds because my thyme seems to have disappeared along with my specialty mints (chocolate, orange and pineapple). I'd love it if our winters weren't so drastic so my rosemary would come up every year. Short of digging it up and bringing it indoors, it always bites the dust even with covering and protecting it. I so envy Michael when he goes out into his garden and his rosemary is bushy and thriving!

I planted 6 basil plants, 2 types of thyme, 3 types of rosemary and some sage along with 4 packets of basil seeds and they're growing like crazy. I have a rabbit problem out there so they pick and choose as to what they want to destroy. So far, so good....knock wood.

The stuff is growing like crazy and I've used quite a bit of basil and sage. The weather's been mild but starting tomorrow we're supposed to get that heat wave in the 90's for at least a week. I'll have to make sure I water regularly.

The only thing I've ever used the mint for is a chicken salad recipe that I got from one of Nigella's shows. Does anyone have any ideas for some uses? I tried it in iced tea and lemonade but didn't care for it.
