It's tough when you have websites to meet everyone's capabilities 100% of the time and still have the site maintain a modern apperance. You want to attract people and advertisers so you want to keep as modern as possible but not make your site so high tech that it's not available to people without high speed access. More people seem to have high speed now, especially those who spend enough time online to be actual members of websites where there is participation, but there are some areas where high speed still isn't available. It's a delicate balance.
