The way I do it (and I must admit I prefer it in the oven) when it is too hot to heat the oven up to 550F, is to take the naked pizza dough and place it right on the grill grates.
I let it sit there for about 1 minute, then I take it off the grill, turn it over, dress it with the "stuff" and place it back on the grill.
Turn the temp down, close the cover and give it another 6 or 7 minutes to finish.
Your time may vary based on thickness of dough, heat of grill and amount of toppings.
