| Of all the simple things, the one I remember the most, was Dad showed me how to boil a perfect egg every time, no cracks and never a runny yolk. Put fresh eggs in a pot of cold water bring to a boil, add salt and wait exactly 13 min, turn off the heat, immediately run pan of boiling water under cold tap water till eggs cooled then peel, out in the fridge for two hour, perfect egg every time. I think the icebox thing was so I would not eat them. Mom never taught us to cook, bu now my Nana did, she had a little red stool for us to stand on so we could reach the counter. Dam you know how long it has been since I thought of that red stool, wonder who has it ?
