Steel cut is a very old process to just "cut" the oat ban in half or thirds but does not "roll" it flat.
It has a consistency of "grape-nuts" and takes about 30 minutes to cook in boiling water.
Definitely not instant!
The nutritional numbers are the same as rolled oats and instant oak (at least on the McCann's brand)
