| In Bangor Maine (where I grew up), last year they enacted a law where if you are smoking inside a car with a child, you will be fined. The state government is looking in to making this a statewide law. The reasoning is that a child is trapped in an enclosed area with the smoke and has no choice but to breath it in, not like at home where they can go in to another room. Up there smoking has been banned in public places for some time.
My roommates and I moved to a rural area to open up a new store for our company, well this is the south and just about every restaurant was 90% smoking with maybe a table or two non smoking, really ridiculous, we were all good cooks, so we started eating almost every meal at home.
