Chef Savors His Higher Profile New York Times - United States
Aaron McCargo Jr. has a less pithy but equally simple way of putting his culinary point across: “I’m gonna make you want what I’ve got,” he likes to say, ...
I like Aaron, but he needs to get off that high horse come back to earth and start cooking some meals beside chicken and steak, I have been doing them for years and sure do not need some one to show me how to cook them. Now for his tag line, first and first off do not tell people you are going to make them want what you have ? sounds more like a drug deal than a food line. I will decide for myself if I want what you have, and if I do I will ask for it. Home cooking is great, he has a personality that is very borderline of likable and disrespectable. I seen in this article that the food network had left a lot of stuff of his description or misreported on purpose ? disagreements between partners for the restaurant, was it not reported as his restaurant and if there were disagreements that would of been between him and his partner, someone have a temper maybe ? and culinary education ? a year at a community college never did say if he graduated or not. Not to put Aaron down but there is a lot of things that seem just not right and other people got let go for. I hope him the best, but the home cooking he has done, I do all the time here at home and haven't seen much new to peak my interest and to keep watching. I am not trying to offend anyone, this is just my opinion and I can't say he is a chef but a cook yes. But after this article I am sadly disappointed and hope he goes on to do good with his life, I am sure he will.

Aaron (to me) is a "meat and potatoes" man. If they renew his show, I hope he will branch out into some other types of food and other veggies. Guess for these 6 shows he wanted to stay in his "comfort zone."
Aaron McCargo Jr., winner of season four of The Next Food Network Star, was featured in yesterday's New York Times. It's a pretty basic article, filled with tidbits that most of you who watched the...
This whole 'Culinary point of view' shtick they want.
I dunno, personally I think the whole TNFNS star concept may be flawed at its core. You don't necessarily find the next great talent in a reality tv show.
On a completely unrelated note....
I just saw this emoticon...
:dog:
I really wish I could think of a proper context to use it..
Just watched today's show (breakfast in bed for his wife) and I know if I had to eat all that food I wouldn't be able to get out of bed for a week! One dish by itself would be plenty for a breakfast.
Don't know about y'all... but that beef and bean burrito isn't what I have in mind when I think of breakfast. Would make a better choice for supper.

Yeah, I also noticed that with him as well!
He seems to stick mainly to that format. I wish I knew myself, what they're gonna do with him now! Hopefully keep him on and not throw him to the sharks!!
