It was for a party celebrating City Paper's Best of Baltimore issue, which, as it turned out, bestowed one of its Best Of awards on the bakery. But the honor felt more like a pie in the face.

I think if you are looking for taste you should probably order a traditional cake. It says they do offer that option at Charm City Cakes. I think the art cakes are exactly that. They put buttercream under some of the fondants It seems it would be easy to peal away the fondant if you didn't enjoy the taste and just have the cake.
