Musician-handyman-baker Duff Goldman doesn't do mundane cakes
Dallas Morning News, TX - Jan 9, 2008
If Bob Vila, Dr. Seuss and bass guitarist Flea opened a bakery together, it might be something like Charm City Cakes.
The Baltimore cakery, owned by musician-handyman-baker Duff Goldman, has become an icon in the baking world since it opened its doors to the Food Network's reality show Ace of Cakes in 2006.
The show takes viewers to a bakery housed in a former church in which ovens and baking racks are offset by power tools and rock music....

Obviously, I have no idea, but I saw this online...

I've never tasted a cake from Charm City, but I have friends who have and they say the cakes look good, but don't taste as good.. The best cakes I've had, and this place has been around for years, is Fisher's in Old Ellicott City

But in the same link

I got a cake from Charm City cakes for my mom's 60th birthday bash and it was lovely and fun, and all three of the layers were quite yummy, as were all the little sample nibbles we got to help us decide on the flavors.

I also went to a Charm City tasting with my older sister and I thought the cake was very good. Definately expensive, but very tasty cake. At the tasting you get sent away with a little box of about 8 different flavor combos, you can request any you like. And Duff was very nice and spent lots of time with us. My sister ended up getting the strawberry cake from PP anyway, which is totally delicious.
