Dirty cake maker...

I noticed on one episode Duff picking his ear and then going right back into making a cake which is extremely gross. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Haven't noticed that one but there are other celebs that do 'unclean' things in the kitchen.

Biggest complaint is when they touch their hair or have it hanging over the food they are making. Also, Paula tasting food with the same utensil more than once. I don't even do that when I cook for myself!

We have discussed a lot of eww moments on various shows. You would think they would catch some of them before putting them on the air.

True...and not to forget the handwashing, or lack of it. I'm sure many times they do it off-camera, but wish they would mention it more often. They have gotten better about it, maybe because so many of us had those eeewwww moments.

For me it's the hair thing. I know it's for TV and they got to look good, but the ladies with long hair really should have it pulled back instead of having it hanging right over the food.

I know what you mean, when I'm cooking a big meal I sometimes run out of clean spoons from tasting the food, I won't use the same spoon twice, comes from Servesafe classes that I have had to take from work, it has made me a wee bit OCD about certain things.

I think Guy is probably the best when it comes to sanitation.

So is Aaron. I saw him and the little girl who was working with him on the pizza wash their hands during one of the episodes on Ray-Ray's set. He was telling the child that it was important to wash her hands before she touches any food.

But the three judges had cited him and put a strike against him for turning his back to the audience. I've also seen Ray-Ray wash HER hands a lot, Paula and Emeril as well. I think he uses only plain water though, because he's there only for a second, seemingly to wet his hands and then dry them as he walks away from the sink.

But on Ace of Cakes, I haven't seen ANYONE washing their hands there. And they all look like they've been working on their cars anyway, if you ask me, because they look so dirty, dingy and grubby! I'm not even sure if they have a sink there or any running water!

I don't watch Guy to know his sanitation habits, but Alton is very, very good at doing it and telling us to! Of the chefs/hosts I've watched I think Alton is been the best at it. Maybe I should check out Guy now

I've noticed that Aaron doing a good job with it.

I don't watch Ace of Cakes enough, usually catching the end before Good Eats, but don't they also transport those cakes uncovered in a van?
