Alton Brown calls Top Chef a "sous chef kind of show"... then takes it back
    TV Squad (blog)
Given the popularity of the second-season opener of The Next Iron Chef, I figured it was a good time to pull out this interview I did with the show's host, Alton Brown, at the network's TCA party in July. It was definitely the tastiest party of the tour, as each Iron Chef contestant plied the critics with delectable morsels of their creativity at various stations...

Ooops, I have never been able to get into that show. I did like the Masters though.

I don't watch Top Chef. I did really like Top Chef Masters though.
Part of the reason I don't like it was what AB said about the personalities rather than the food and it being highly produced.

I have watched Top Chef since the first season, can not tell you the winners, but it has progessed from focusing on the flirting going on in the house, to this season which seems like it is all about the cooking, have not seen much on the conflicts, but than again that is part of cooking in the kitchen, I have to remind my wife her opinion is not in my recipes, but it is okay to tell me if you like or don't my food like the judges do, but not when I am in the middle of cooking it. I enjoy the show, and have found some neat thiings by watching all the chefs cooking dishes. Something different from each one because they all have a different approch to the challenge. Probaly have picked up more tips on TC than off of IC. Personally I like both shows, to put on over that other can not do. Both have equally as much to offer. Just my worth

prepared with passion and served with love !

I do not cook to live, but live to cook !
