Still shocking to everyone it seems. Sure is making the press. Maybe he will reconsider.

Shocking, yes, but I get where he's coming from. Besides, the current contract is up after this year. I was sorta already thinking that there was a possibility on the contract not being extended for whatever reason, so... I'm gonna take it as it comes. It's AB's decision & his alone.

He has such a big following and it seems to be growing not shrinking, maybe he tired of doing Good Eats, guess sorta like Emeril was with Emeril live, seems as though 10 years seems to be the dieing point, wish I could of worked 10 years then retired, I had to wait till I worked 20, then retired went back to school for 6 years and now on going on my 12th year at a second career. Got 4 more years and I can retire again, then go to culinary school, lol and no I not going to work as a chef afterward.

prepared with passion and served with love !

I do not cook to live, but live to cook !

No wonder AB has been making fun of his FN comrades! He plans on flying the coop soon to possibly greener pastures. Can't say as I blame him, he probably sees the writing on the wall there.

I know it's Alton decision, but

If he's not going to do Good Eats... I wonder what he will do? Write, produce, lectures, etc.???

Well, I heard a bit of a better answer at the book signing tonight. Alas, my brain is fried right now, so I shall check my notes (otherwise known as the recording I made of the whole Q&A) & get back with the response.

it surprises me . however at the demo this year he noted Food Network has refused many of his Feasting Series Ideas (Feasting on rails /trains ) , so i can see why he'd want to go out on top . its better than having to stop because the fans aren't coming .
Ive met Ab on August 18th 2007 and August 1st 2009 -- both shows were the best !
