27 disk set alton brown

has anybody bought this yet?

if so did you buy it before oct 1 2007 (they changed the foodnetwork store and theyve changed the set)

it goes for about $250 usd

i was wondering if they changed the content of the set

it looks like just the special sets put together and not the actual series from tv (food network) (looks to be

i'm thinking i might pick it up if it had all the episodes from season 1-9

if its the tv series (

No I haven't. But I have seen individual shows at target cheaper than buying online. Maybe they have the set?

Target, Suzie?

One would wonder how many are available?

The box set from FN looks complete. I've been on the fence about buying it yet. Tell ya what....I'll go ahead and get it and report back...

Patience, though...after receiving it, it's going to take a bit to evaluate it.

Most of the ones a target just have a series of a few shows. Not the whole set.

Talking

I have both the ones from the Food Network and Target.
The 27 disc is set volumes 1-9. There are 3 episodes on each discs and 3 discs in on volume. ~9 episodes in all per volume~
The ones from Target are in yellow, slim case boxes. The ones from Food Network are in full sized cases and red covers. But the content is the same.
This fall the Food Network changed the packaging on theirs to to ones like the Target editions. But my Target is no longer selling them. I had to buy volumes 16-18 from Food Network.

The content is from all over the seasons. The dvds can go from season 1 to season 5 in the same set. The cool thing about them is the Ask Alton section. He answers viewer questions and tells little behind the scenes tidbits

I am sure I would love having the set, I could watch Alton over and over.

I do already... without the dvds

The dvds are great and make a super reference collection. If I want to make something from an episode and haven't watched it recently, I'll go to the dvd and get the technique down before starting.
