| Way back when I was a young'n (in the covered wagon days) my parents used to take us kids to Royal Castle. They sold the same type mini-burgers that White Castle sells. We'd get a burger and a birch beer which, to me, tasted quite medicinal but was extremely tasty. I don't remember when they went out of business but it's been years. White Castles started popping up after that and are still in the area.
We don't have Sonics anywhere near us but what's annoying is that they keep showing their commercials with food that looks so darn good it makes you wanna hop in the car and take a long drive. I live in a 'burb of Cleveland and the closest ones are near Columbus and don't think the 4-hour round trip is worth it. They just opened up a Fatburger recently in the area but I haven't tried them yet. I rarely eat fast food.
