New episode: Broccoli

Tomorrow night (2/18) there's a new Good Eats episode:
If It Ain't Broccoli, Don't Fix It.
I'm anxious to see how Alton makes his broccoli. I love mine barely cooked (as in steamed) or in stir fry.

My husband is a big broccoli fan. He likes fresh, steamed, soup and even in a casserole.

Broccoli is one of those vegetables that for the most part, I can take it or leave it. It's my mother's favorite vegetable, so I ate lots of it growing up. I think I've had my fill for the rest of time.

I do tend to order it when I go out to restaurants because I have found that most places can't cook most vegetables to my liking and broccoli is one of those things that you can't screw up too bad. If I don't like the way it tastes, I can salt it, butter it, or hide it in my potatoes.

I love veggies, but broccoli is just ok with me. I'd rather have cauliflower. Lately, I'm really hooked on radishes. They are enormous right now and not sure where they are from. Great snacking food.

I love broccoli but I'm not a fan of the barely steamed version. Raw in broccoli salad is fine but otherwise I want it cooked so I can chew it.

That reminds me...there is a shredded broccoli in a bag that I buy occasionally. It is really a good salad or I put some of the broccoli on a sandwich.

I have used the broccoli slaw with the bean sprouts in my stir fry if I want smaller pieces.

We buy two bundles of broccili weekly. My wife loves it and I like it!

I use to work with a lot of Asians that used shredded broc. in even egg roles. They were excellent. Course the plant I worked for was throwing them away as they only used the flower. Those folks waste nothing.

I made the Oven Roasted Broccoli from the episode.
Yummy, in deed!
The garlic was a great flavor pairing. I really liked the cheese and the panko bread crumbs together too.
Alton said it can be served hot or cold. I have a little bit saved back to try cold. Its going to be hard to beat it hot out of the oven.
