Real mashed potatoes were used, mixed with confectioners' sugar and other things, for the inside part of a chocolate covered egg.

I passed on all the shows that featured lamb. Not a fan.

Me too. I'm not a fan of any food made from "baby" anything, veal, lamb. Just not a fan.

I have an old recipe for Potato-Peanut Butter Candy. You roll out the potato candy into a rectangle, spread it with peanut butter, roll it up and cut into slices. Pretty good stuff! I don't know where I got the recipe but I've had it since the 60's when I was first married. It calls for Mashed Potato Buds, which is a Betty Crocker brand. I've tried recipes using real mashed potatoes but this one's a lot easier. Using potatoes, you'd have to put them through a ricer in order for them to be completely free of lumps so it mixes with the confectioner's sugar into a smooth dough.

I don't care for lamb either. We used to have it maybe once a month when my kids were younger and still living at home. I guess I served it once too often because we all took a bite, made a face and my daughter said, "Mom, this tastes like human flesh", which is eerie because that's exactly what went through my head. I never served it to them again but did make one attempt at cooking it several years later. I made a lamb stew and the smell gagged me enough that I had to feed it to the disposal without even tasting it.

The book I bought by Alton's friend Shirley who he often has on the show suggests adding instant potatoes to toasting bread when you make the dough. I need to try it and see how it does.
