4 hours of Alton on Saturday!

There will be a mini Good Eats marathon starting at 8 pm on April 5th!
The night kicks off with the hour long Good Eats special "Down and Out in Paradise" which isn't aired often! Yay! (even though I have it on DVD)

The rest of the night's line up:

9pm -- Fry Hard 2: The Chicken
9:30 pm -- American Slicer
10 pm --Milk Made
10:30 pm -- Coconut Cake Revival

And if you still need an Alton fix (I probably will need one ;-))... Iron Chef America is on at 11 pm!!

I really need to be working on my lesson plan for tomorrow, but I keep ending up sitting down and watching Alton.

Interesting show about frying chicken. Earlier in the day, Tyler said all the opposite of what Alton did on pan frying chicken and the type of 'fat' that should be used.

Guess if I was to make fried chicken, I'd chose Alton's method. It didn't seem as saturated in fat.

Tyler goes more with tradition I think. Alton goes with the science to perfect something that's already good and make it even better.

I've never seen Tyler make fried chicken, what did he say to do?

I don't follow a recipe for fried chicken, my mom taught me how to make it which how her grandmother made it. But, it is darn close to the way Alton makes his. I have, however, taken to putting the seasoning under the crust like AB

If you go to the FN site and pull up yesterday (Saturday's) schedule, you will see Tyler's show on fried chicken. He deep fries it in herb enhanced peanut oil. He said to never use Crisco or pan fry because the chicken doesn't cook through.

He needs to speak with Alton.
