I have all those but wouldn't count them as my essentials. Don't use the pizza cutter for anything but pizza.

My essentials...good cooking pots and pans, very sharp knives, wooden spoons, a mixer with different beaters and my food processor.

What are your essentials?

I do love that Zlyliss pizza cutter. I bought one just like it after seeing Alton have one on the show. It's a very handly little thing. I've used to cut puff pastry and other dough

My list would be:
Knifes -- Gotta have those without a doubt.
Cast iron skillet -- I cook so many things in it I would be lost without it.
Digital scale -- Because I make a lot recipes from Alton, there's a good amount of weighing involved. I was thinking yesterday evening when making dinner how much of a workout that little thing gets!
Themometer -- I'm surprised Alton didn't list this. You gotta know when the hunk o' beast is perfectly cooked.
Timer -- Another thing I'm surprised Alton didn't mention. I have two that I use on a regular basis. One is part of my probe themometer and the other is a twist type that looks very retro. I use them almost everytime I cook and when I brew tea.

My problem is I use way more than 5,
1. Knives must have, I now use Wusthof
2. Stock Pot- I have 3 different sizes
3. Cast Iron fry pan, strickly use one for corn bread, have 3 others
4. Electric water pitcher, boils water in 90 sec.
5.Timers and themometers,
6. Way to many other things, I use for baking.
7. Several sets of stainless pots and pans.

Sometimes, people go I could never use all that until, they need some and guess who has it.

Wow, you have one cast iron skillet just for cornbread!
I only have one 10 inch skillet so that's the one I use for cornbread.

I looked at some really nice knife sets while we were gone on our trip. I was tempted.

But my chefs knife would probably be #1 for me
My KitchenAid Mixer
My specialty bread pans
Gas burners
My dutch oven and other cast iron

I'm finding it interesting to see what all of you have as your top five essentials.
I thought someone would have said a can opener...but then, I don't think many of use much in the canned goods department.
