Alton made me buy it!

My new, sweet Thermapen Instant read thermometer came in the mail today!
I cashed in a few Amazon.com gift certificates to get this little guy, been eying it for years since I saw Alton with one (then he recommended it in the Gear book).

Mine

AB's

So, has anyone bought kitchen equipment because of Alton or based on Alton's recommendations?

I'm very, very guilty of this. But a lot of times, the items are things I've been wanting anyway.

My list is long

We bought some of the little containers that I see Alton has attached on the inside of his cabinets. The ones we bought are magnetic (not sure if his are) but we saw them in Container Store and I mentioned that he had something similar and we ended up buying them.

I've spotted several decorations he has on the set are things I have too!
There's little cow head creamer I've spotted on his shelf that is exactly like one my mom has. I told her that's why I watch the show over and over, to spot the decorations in the kitchen.

And in the first kitchen, the white one, there are a few episodes where you can spot Fiestaware! :ura1:

I got the little needler meat tenderizer thingy. I have his plunger measure cups from his website. I bought the little draining rack ensemble of cooling racks. I am sure there are more things if I could think of them.

I have that needler... I love it! Of course, there's lots of things to buy. I just have to pace myself and not buy everything in his Gear book and the stuff from Good Eats.

I've got the plunger measuring cup, some of the storage containers he uses, a few dishers, the nifty little infrared thermometer and just got in a couple more racks for my 1/2 and 1//4-size sheet pans to use for draining rigs. Oh, yeah... a few pieces of Lodge cookware. Bad, bad Alton!

Oh and I got a mortar and pestle but mine is really small. I would like to have a larger one. This one was so cute though.

I have the plungers (but not the ones from AB's site I found them at a kitchen store)
I bought the salt cellar from his site, but I don't use it. I found a salt cellar just like it at a kitchen store and I use that instead. I'm thinking about bringing the one I bought from his site to have him sign

I replaced my cookie sheets with 1/2 sheet pans

My 5 qt Lodge Dutch oven purchase, I think, can be blamed on him!
Dishers
Melon baller... I now see it's multitasking ways before I thought it was just a melon baller
Electric teakettle

What else there's so much!

I have the red lodge dutch oven he used in the coco vin episode. It's sitting on my stove top in the photo of my range.
