Rep Power: 3 | Chewing the Fat: Alton Brown on Donuts Quote:

About six months ago we decided that it would be fun to produce more original video segments for Serious Eats. When I made a list of interesting people I wanted to interview on camera for a series called Chewing the Fat, Alton Brown was at the top of the list. Why? Because whenever I have watched him on the Food Network or chatted with him (ever so briefly) when I was an Iron Chef judge, I have always found Alton to be interesting, provocative, smart, and funny.

Rep Power: 10 | I like the cake donuts better than the yeast. About the only time I have donuts is on Saint Patrick's day. There is a local shop that makes green ones and we get them every year. Kind of a tradition. |

Rep Power: 3 | I have to admit, donuts for me are like peanuts - can't just eat one. Just for that reason, I don't buy them very often. I'll have one, then I hear another calling my name saying "eat me... eat me..." And, when they're still just a wee bit warm. Forget it, I'm a goner!
The best donut shops I have found on the road have been one in West Yellowstone we would past every morning into Yellowstone Nat. Park. (Didn't feel to guilty because they would get hiked off during the day.) and the one that AB stopped at in FOA that was near Vicksburg, Miss. When he pulled up to that one, I knew exactly where he was. Had to stop at that one a couple times while we were camping nearby.
