Add Apples For Flavor
Add Apples for Flavor
Q&A with Alton Brown
by Chris Rywalt, Macworld.com
Alton Brown took a backward approach to finding fame as the host of a TV cooking show -- he spent ten years as a cameraman and TV-commercial director before going to cooking school. "I watched a lot of television shows about food and decided that I thought they were all rotten," Brown says. "I went to culinary school specifically to get the background to make the show that I make." The result? Good Eats, the Food Network program Brown hosts and writes--with the help of his 366MHz iBook SE.

I saw this in my Google alerts and wondered what was going on. Some times I wonder about Google Alerts, they pick up old things
Darn, I was hoping to see Alton in the current issue!

They must have reindexed the site or something. That story is from 2001 and I got another today from 2004..

I got both of those on Google alerts today and both of these articles were new for me.
I wish Alton had been my home ec teacher, but then he would have only been about 8 years old at the time.Besides that, I'd have to say I'm probably a home economics teacher. I think the part of my job that I take most seriously is being an educator.

I don't think either have been posted here before. We haven't been here that long.
