I saw it in one episode of ICA. Never saw it on GE though (thank goodness!) I was so angry that I googled "Alton Brown's Earring" to see if anyone else noticed it at the time, lol.

Some guys can wear them and they look okay, other guys just does not look right and he is one it does not look right. That is like big hoops on women some look good others look like chit in them.

I watched a couple GE last night looking for it. Didn't find the earring, but I could notice the hole in most all the '05 episodes (the ones I watched, at least).
Not sure how I feel about it. I'll have to think about it.

Unless playing BA, I can't remember ever seeing Alton with it on during a Good Eats episode.
I looked at some of my pix from last year's Opryland show and it looks as if the hole is gone.

Wearing an earring just doesn't suit AB, IMO. He's cool enough in my book, he doesn't need any "props," lol. I couldn't sleep in the wee hours this morning, so I watched a show of his that I had taped. I never even thought of making a roux in the oven! I'll have to go back and watch it again, I fell asleep shortly after I started watching.

I agree AB is cool sans adornments but I kinda liked it
I love the gumbo episode. It inspired me to make my first pot of gumbo. Mine was different than what he made in the show, though. But now I make gumbo so much, can't believe I never made it before!

I've never made gumbo, how do you make yours? Sounds like the perfect meal for a cold winter night.
