Long Island Ice Tea seems to be the 'punch' of today.
Punch, when I was a growing up, was ginger ale and sherbet...no alcohol....and a decorative chunk of ice with cherries and fruit frozen in it.
Maybe we shouldn't have called it punch, because it surely didn't carry a punch when you drank it.

AB did a Long Island ice tea drink in the episode.
As for the punch packing a punch it started as spirits and and evovled to the ginger ale & sherbet drink that most of us have had an birthday parties and whatnot.
The part about social clubs, secret societies and miltary orgs having special "receipts" for punches was interesting. Those things were doozies.
