We must be having a mind meld, I've been thinking about making those brownies. I bought some Ghirardelli cocoa powder on the trip to DC and have been itching to make something. I love AB's cocoa brownies

I made the pastry cream from the added recipes, very very good!

must be the weather, been making brownies here for the last two weeks, like I really need to them. But they had the Ghirardelli mixes on special, thought why not, added extra pecans to it you know even the wife liked it, I have to say it was really really good, goes well with a bowl of vanilla ice cream
prepared with passion and served with love !

I had some of the King Arthur Natural Cocoa Powder so I had everything I needed to make the ones in Alton's book without going to the store.

Must be something in the air... I gathered up brownie fixings while grocery shopping yesterday. Been having a craving for some thick moist chocolate brownies with either toasted pecans or walnuts.
