My responsibility this year is to bring sweet potato casserole, rolls and a cake. I am thinking of doing Alton's "Gold cake" and marbling it with some cocoa in part of the batter then frosting it with chocolate. My mom will buy a pumpkin and a pecan pie, so I need to make something the kids will eat. That always means Chocolate. My husband will prefer that to the other options as well.

I get tired of chocolate because it seems that's all my family wants me to make. When I go out I like to get something that isn't chocolate if I order a dessert. It's my only chance.

Last Wednesday I went out to Baker's Square with my friends. If you ate a meal there it was free pie day. So we ate and then the waitress came around to see what free pie we wanted. They both ordered Pumpkin, I wasn't ready to order yet, and I panicked and I blurted out French Silk. It was awesome.

My partner is a chocolate fanatic, but sometimes I just need to make a butter/yellow cake. I feel your pain!
