Celeb chef Bobby Flay building home in Amagansett

Monday October 19, 2009 10:49 AM By Laura Mann

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is cooking up a new project -- building a new home on a 2.89-acre tract that he purchased recently in Amagansett, not far from property owned by actor Alec Baldwin.

Flay recently closed on the vacant land, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report. He paid $1.485 million, the Report indicates.

Flay recently told Hamptons Magazine that he plans on building a “green home” there with his wife, Stephanie March. The couple is entrusting builder Larry Kane with their new project.
When the Food Network star spends time in the Hamptons, he lives a low-key life. “We try not to clog the day up,” he tells the magazine. “Every now and then we go to a social event, but by 2 p.m. I’m exhausted -- especially after a bottle of rosé -- and I tend to go to bed by 10.”
