Rep Power: 1 | I live in Germany during the concert season usually. My husband is German and is there now working. Germany was the last hold out for adopting no smoking laws; they just went into effect Jan. 1.
I agree about no smoking areas being ineffective. I hate being around cigarette smoke and certainly didn't plan to be married to a smoker. I have no excuse as the first time I ever saw my husband, he was smoking, playing Scriabin and had sat a can of Coke on the piano. And this was during an examination. Arrogant boy. |

Rep Power: 10 | I couldn't be married to a smoker. I absolutely cannot tolerate it. I get allergy related pink eye if I am around it with my contacts in and the stuff clings to them. |

Rep Power: 10 | I have horrible allergic reactions to any smoke. So much so that we converted our fireplace to gas. It is really convenient and the house doesn't have that burnt wood smell anymore.
Cigarette and cigar smoke are the worst! Husband smoked when we first got married but he quit years ago when he saw how affected I was by it.
I could never do b-b-q like Bobby Flay. They'd be picking me up off the ground from all the smoke!

I have three sisters and two brothers and not a one of us is alike.
My baby brother (he's 7 years younger than me) and I were talking this weekend and we agree that we are the closest to being similar in tastes, talent and viewpoints.
It's interesting how you can have the same parents, grow up in the same house and be totally different. We don't even look alike!

Rep Power: 1 | In Bangor Maine (where I grew up), last year they enacted a law where if you are smoking inside a car with a child, you will be fined. The state government is looking in to making this a statewide law. The reasoning is that a child is trapped in an enclosed area with the smoke and has no choice but to breath it in, not like at home where they can go in to another room. Up there smoking has been banned in public places for some time.
My roommates and I moved to a rural area to open up a new store for our company, well this is the south and just about every restaurant was 90% smoking with maybe a table or two non smoking, really ridiculous, we were all good cooks, so we started eating almost every meal at home.

Rep Power: 10 | California has that law as well.
I just cannot stand to eat and smell cigar or cigarette smoke. Really ruins the flavor of the food for me.
