Stephaine and Miriam

Are these two women actual employees of Boby's or just friends or what?

I think they work for the food network and are part of the staff there. At least that is what I would assume after seeing some of the back ground of the shows.

STEPHANIE BANYAS has been Bobby Flay’s business assistant since 1997. She is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and lives in New York City.

She is also co-author of many of his cookbooks.

My husband wonders why they are on the show with him... "I mean, isn't he BOBBY FLY, isn't he like arguably on of the greatest CHEFs in our nation right now? Why does he need two ladies bossing him around on what to make on Throwdown?"

I try to get my husband to see that it could be a disaster if they just let Bobby Flay make just anything and try to pass it off as FN quality stuff, but he argues that "He's Bobby Flay, what is he going to mess up?" Or I thought it's like, maybe he is the inspiration, and they are the technical know how... like I'm sure Bobby isn't the best baker, so he needs their help... but he's been to culinary school....

Why DOES Bobby need them telling him what to do and stuff?

Everyone needs a sidekick from time-to-time to spice up the show. He'd be talking to himself if they weren't there.

I agree as well that he could do this on his own.

All chefs have assistants. It is not like he has 800 hands. Plus every good chef takes advice from others as to taste, texture, etc.
