Rep Power: 10 | Upset Chef on Throwdown? I was reading some of the comments on IMDB about Throwdown and one of the people made this comment... Quote: |
One guy became distraught and started crying and saying "they tricked me, they tricked me". Yeah, sounds like he was really flattered to be on Mr. Flay's show.

Did anyone ever see that?

Rep Power: 10 | I haven't seen all of them, but usually the people seem honored to have Bobby challenge them. Or at least they hide their anger/disappointment well.

Rep Power: 10 | I did feel sorry for the pie ladies that lost to Bobby. They seemed a little disappointed.

Rep Power: 10 | I feel bad for the people when they lose, but I also know that their businesses will probably boom with the free advertising so that makes me feel a little better.
I guess if you really didn't want to do it you could refuse to throwdown with him right?

Rep Power: 10 | Yes I suppose so. And I would hope they wouldn't put it on TV if they refused.

Rep Power: 2 | I do hope that most people will realise that this is a one time deal that they compete in a throw-down(why do they call it that) and these people do this for a living and the advertisement on national TV is great, but let Bobby have to do it for a living and without his staff, it would be a whole different story. Also given they hold the same competition the next day it could be a complete switch around. I know that some days are a diamond and some a stone, hopefully if he ever shows up at my door it will be a diamond day for me and a stone him. As far as the one's that lose I think the public knows they are great at what they do or they wouldn't be doing it. |

Rep Power: 10 | What is so disappointing for many of his competitors, is they think the FN has signed them up to do their OWN show.
How disappointing to find out it is just a setup for Bobby and his staff to show how much they know about the signature dish these people worked years on perfecting!
And then, if they lose to him, that could cause permanent self-confidence damage. It would for me.
I wish the show would just stop. Seems many are now 'on to the FN' and probably guess that Bobby will appear sometime during the week of taping.
It just seems mean IMO.

Rep Power: 2 | I think most of the throw-downs I have seen, it has been a premise that these people are doing a one time show, probably with hopes that it will lead to more and here lately you never know the network could use some of them. |

Rep Power: 10 | One more point...why doesn't Bobby make the SAME dish as the competitor. Like on the pie competition...he made peach and berry and the ladies made apple. Well, I'd like the peach better because I'm not an apple pie lover.
I know he has done some things similar, like the Muffaletta, but he seems to put a strange spin on the dish and adds some mysterious ingredient. Wouldn't you think the local judges would pickup on this and know whose dish they were tasting?
I would like to see Bobby do a throwdown just once on his own. Why does he need TWO assistants anyway? He's only making one dish...I can do that by myself.
