Is this a country wide signing...or just a select few?

I would love to get a autograph but if I buy the book why should I have to pay to go to the event. I really do not even understand the mentality behind that. Even the fact that they want you to buy the book there, what difference does it make where the book was bought, you can see it is their book and who would want a book that is signed by another author. That happened when we went to see Emeril, had to buy the book there to get it signed but did not have to pay for the event. The author still gets his/hers money no matter where the book is bought. That is like the signed copies on the television shopping shows they just sign a piece of paper and then someone sticks it in the book, to me that is not signed. But these places that charge so you can come to their establishment and buy the product from them, so the author can sign it just ain't right, that is like double dipping, I am going to get you twice not just once. I do not mind making a dollar but come on !

I would imagine if it's in a book store the whole event is organized by them so the store makes money having them there.
