Pizza on the Grill

Right now Bobby is doing vegetarian dishes and one thing he was making is pizza on the grill. Has anyone ever tried it? The pizza dough guy looked surprised at the idea of the pizza on the grill, but it did look pretty good.

I haven't tried it myself but I think my brother has. Flat bread for sandwiches seems like it would be good too.

I have made pizza on the grill several times. I usually use a pizza stone because it is easier, but I have put the dough directly on the grill too.

The way I do it (and I must admit I prefer it in the oven) when it is too hot to heat the oven up to 550F, is to take the naked pizza dough and place it right on the grill grates.
I let it sit there for about 1 minute, then I take it off the grill, turn it over, dress it with the "stuff" and place it back on the grill.
Turn the temp down, close the cover and give it another 6 or 7 minutes to finish.
Your time may vary based on thickness of dough, heat of grill and amount of toppings.

On our trip I saw a pizza stone made for the grill. The "pizza que".
