chef Throwdown With Charleston Chef

I missed this when it first aired, but I see it's running again tomorrow night.

Piece of cake?

Robert Carter

Can a local chef stand up to the stardom of Bobby Flay? Find out at 9 p.m. Tuesday on the Food Network, when Peninsula Grill executive chef Robert Carter and the restaurant's famed "Ultimate Coconut Cake" kick off the fifth season of "Throwdown With Bobby Flay."

The premise of the show is to identify culinary masters and challenge them on their home turf. In this case, the Food Network and Flay sought out Carter in Charleston under the guise of filming a profile. What Carter didn't know was that Flay was planning to challenge him to an unexpected coconut cake cook-off.

Carter says being on the show was a "surreal" experience. "I woke up that morning thinking I'd be able to do my thing in the comfort of my own kitchen. The next thing I know, Bobby Flay is walking in with another camera crew challenging me to a cooking duel. It was awesome!"The episode will air repeatedly throughout the week. Viewers should visit www.foodnetwork.com for specific dates and times.

These always pretty much are a guaranteed loss for Bobby. He's not a pastry chef.

Ever notice right after the beginning of just about every episode of the show, there's a mysterious looking unknown masked man riding a bike who stops and hands Bobby his assignments of the signature dish that he has to prepare? Haha!!
