Thumbs down

I am going to try this one using a Grill Pan. If I blend the butter mixture with the meat and then cook it, will it taste the same???

I would say no, because then you are cooking it in not basting it on, now putting the garlic inside the burger might over do the lightness of the flavor your looking for. By basting it you are not only flavoring but also browning the butter as it cooks on the burger. If you looking for a heavy flavor of garlic then add the garlic minced in the meat, looking for that light taste then add it with the butter and baste. Just my opinion, but I add a pat of butter on top of my steaks on the grill just before they are done, I love the flavor it gives them, I already season with garlic powder so I do not need that added.

I have made frozen butter disks and put them inside the patties before Grilling and it's pretty good. I think if you mix it in with the meat it would loosen it too much for the patties to stay together.
