Okay-- well, I actually found this site yesterday, but like most other things that happen in my life, I did this bass-ackwards, and just found this introductory thread although I've already made about 16 posts. So I'll give you the basics. I'm a single guy. Middle-aged. No kids. (That officially makes me a freak amongst the FN demographic, LOL!!) I love to cook and love to eat- and have the waistline to prove it. Don't do anything really fancy, but can throw down some turkey chili, spinach lasagna, and am contemplating Boeuf Bourguignon, thanks to a recent DVD purchase of Julia Child's The French Chef. That lady was awesome!! Complete dishes 29 minutes a pop- without fancy graphics being hurled in your face!!
BTW, I took the picture on the left, but it's not my display. I cruise whenever I can afford it, and always go to the midnight buffets with all the ice sculptures, champagne fountains, and watermelons with all kinds of words and geometric designs carved into them. If only real life were a 24/7 cruise ship. |

We had an interesting disscussion about this a few weeks ago.
Most of us here actually cook and want to learn about cooking and food! instead of taking the the semi-homemade route.
I didn't know The French Chef was on DVD! I forsee a purchase in my future! |

Rep Power: 10 | I'm definitely not the demographic either...58 (next week!), retired, husband, me and the puppy (see our Avatar) in the house. Daughter grown and lives on her own.
However, I SO love to cook and make up new dishes. Yes, Julia Child's, French Chef, show was on our TV growing up. The whole family watched it together. She was a riot and so informative!

Rep Power: 0 | I’m 38 year old spouseless, kidless and petless New Jerseyan. I started to watch FN to learn how to season food with spices and herbs instead of salt, pepper and Lawry’s as well as making meals for two and ideas for entertaining. I watch at least two hours of FN a day (except for Sundays during the NFL season). I love the healthy recipes Ellie Krieger makes but enjoy almost all the other hosts as well as the challenges. My FN-related goal for this year is to make an edible pie crust. |

Rep Power: 10 | Alton did a great show on pie crust if you can catch it sometime. His tips really helped me make a better crust. |
