Ping-ping is a nickname I've had since I was a kid so I like to use ping as a sign in name. I've been a long time viewer, mostly of Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals.
I'm not good enough at cooking to come up with my own recipes so I'm always looking for ideas on the food network.

Hi all Bryan here or as my friends call me the Tattooed Gourmet. I just found this forum a few hours ago. I have to say there sure are a lot of AB fans judging by the photos. I have been a fan of FN for years. I am not sure why but my mom told me that my favorite two shows growing up were Dukes of Hazzard and Julia Childs. I understand the first one but why would a 5 year old religously watch Julia Childs?

I guess I was destined to be cook.

Anywho I love Good Eats. However I have to watch it when my wife is either at work or on the computer. She cannot stand Alton, unless he is doing a show on a food she likes. I also like iron Chef and anything Paula.

Still playing "catch up" on reading old threads and just found this one today.

Found this site thru a Google search and glad I did! Use to visit the old FN boards until they took it down.

Been a fan of cooking shows for a long time... cutting my teeth on the early ones on PBS and Discovery Daytime like Graham Kerr, Julia, Great Chefs, etc.

Born and raised in the Carolinas on a farm were we grew all of our veggies and butchered our own meats. The DH and I live on a SC sea island by the name of Edisto, which is abt. 45 mins. south of Charleston, SC. It's a semi-tropical area with a long growing season so plenty of fresh veggies year round and fresh seafood.

Married, retired with one dog and three cats. Before I retired I was the owner/mgr of a birding/nature/gardening business. On of my early jobs was the mgr/cook for a small restaurant/deli.

The DH and I have a RV and like to travel in the summer. Been to almost all of the 50 states and part of Canada. Besides cooking, love history, genealogy, photography (the DH calls me the "crazy lady with a camera" I take so many photos), reading and nature-related things.

I'll try almost any kind of food, but my favorite thing to cook is just simple Southern down-home meals and enjoy cooking Gullah-style dishes too.

Glad I found this place and here's to my new foodie friends!

I wanted to do an AB avatar, but there were enough already.

After reading Robert Irvine's blog a couple times I decided to go for him even if he's not on Food Network anymore.
