Rep Power: 0 | Fresh Meat Hello I just found this brand new fourm after installing a new modem and getting a new ISP.
My name is Brian in real life and Im' spelling challenged so please bear with me (any wouldbe correctors forget it you would be wasting key strokes)
Im a fan of Alton's becuse he explains about cooking in a way I can wrap my head around. Not just do this then this he tells you why your doing something wich makes a big differnce to me it lets me apply a technique to other things and to know if Im getting the right result.
Becuse of Good Eats;
The fist time I ever tried fied chiken it came out good
the first time I ever tried empenadas they came out good
I gratefull to AB for showing me the why not just the how.
PS. befor the letters show I was sure that W was his wife the hate was too pure to just be an Friend. |

Alton's biscuits are great too, and so are his nanna's. |

Rep Power: 10 | Well, no one has been on this thread in a while and there seem to be more members.
So, here's a bit about me, seeing as I just joined this week. Have lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years and love it! Married over 30 years and we have one daughter who graduated college last year majoring in sculpture. She is a FABULOUS cook! When she was 4 yrs old I told her she could make whatever she wanted in the kitchen. She selected salad and that became her specialty for many years. Now, she makes everything from scratch and, like me, doesn't measure a thing.
We have our little dog, Sophie (her photo is on my profile), 4 years old and a Lovebird, Baby. He turned a year old in May.
I love cooking, inventing products, gardening, bird watching (I use to think this was a geeky thing, but it isn't...we have beautiful birds in our yard), the stock market and a true love of life.
I have a website for RainLovers that I have had for over a year now. It is so incredible how many people respond and tell me about their love of the rain. From the US, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom...it is just amazing how many have written stories for the website.
Hoping more will write and share a bit about themselves. I love this site...THANK YOU!!!!

Rep Power: 10 | I started out as Alton Brown fans then decided to expand the scope. This is one of the original threads.
I am so glad you found us. It sounds like you have a great family. Maybe your daughter will stop by some too.
Funny, before I even read this I was out on the screen porch watching the birds while it rains.
This photo is the view I have if you add some rain and remove the cat. You can see my bird feeder on the window behind the cat. He likes to bird watch too. |

Rep Power: 2 | My first post better be right here.
Greetings All for Northern California!! My name is Bob, and I live in small town Vacaville, around the Sacramento valley on the way down to SF. I'm married, no kids, and mid-50's.
I have been a FN-watcher for many years, but only recently started to look around on the internet for FN-related content, probably starting just a few weeks ago with the NFN-Star 3 marithon. I just wanted to find out more about those contestants, and boy---did I learn a lot about all the FN stars and shows from that day on.
I'm a BBQ nut, and spend a lot of time at the auto races too. |

Rep Power: 10 | Glad you decided to seek us out. We are a fairly new forum. Less than 6 months online. That Food Network Star controversy seemed to help the site along a lot. A lot of folks started looking for things on the net and found us.
I like to grill too. I even have a gas one on my range top. I love it.
Welcome again. I look forward to your grilling tips. |
