Rep Power: 10 | I like Paula, but the FN is showing her too much. Not only on the network, but she is on every talk show, morning and afternoons, you see in magazines...they are doing a Rachael Ray to her too!!!! Over exposing and we will all soon tire of her. Too bad as I really liked her at first, except for all the butter.

I just joined. I love cooking and baking. I'm a looooong time memeber of the AllRecipes site and I just stumbled across this forum.
My daughter and son in law cook too, and we watch different cooking shows for new recipes and cooking techniques |

Rep Power: 2 | Hello everybody! I just stumbled upon this forum earlier today while googling Mario Batali quit. After watching The Next Iron Chef and noticing his absence, I wanted to know if the rumors that he left were true. I guess so. Anyway, found this site after reading an article posted.
My name is actually Christina, not Lucy. Lucy is the name of my dog, who just so happens to be a spoiled brat, 55 lb lap dog.
Nice to meet everyone! |

Rep Power: 10 | Welcome! As you can see from my Avatar, I have a Pomeranian who is also a lap dog. She's big for a Pom..17 pounds. Both parents were taller and that's what we wanted, a little bigger than the average 4-7 pound Poms.
She's 'well taken of' and I make all her food. They are our babies!
Speaking of babies, we have a new addtion to the family (at least temporarily). Our daughter saved a parakeet this weekend. It was in the middle of the street and she almost ran over it. Parked her car, got out and followed it. She knew it would tire out soon, like most domestic birds and it did. Threw her shirt over it and brought it home.
Just an amazingly beautiful bird. If no one claims it, we are taking it the aviary vet to put it for adoption. I'd keep it but we already have a Lovebird. My husband thinks we should keep it, but we'll see. I'm already getting attached to it and named it Echo.
It hears the Lovebird calling out from upstairs and it answers. What a beautiful voice it has!
Oops, sorry got off the subject of welcoming you...BTW, what kind of dog do you have?

Rep Power: 10 | That's what we are wondering as well. There will always be a lot of unanswered questions if no one claims this little bird...how long was it outside, how old is it, did it escape or did someone let it go free, who owned it..the list goes on and on. I can tell you this, it sure is happy! It keeps on putting all the balls of grain and millet branches into the water dish. Funny thing is, I can be there talking to it and the minute I leave, it fills the dish! Just like a child...it is very smart.

Rep Power: 2 | Thanks for the welcome. Your dog is adorable, BerryBaby. My dog is a boxer mix. We adopted her after seeing a sign on the mailboxes by my mom's house. This couple who lived there had a purebred female boxer who got loose one night. They were moving and needed to get rid of the puppies FAST, and since they were mixes, weren't interested in making any money off of them. The puppies were only five weeks old at the time and when I went over there, they only had one more female puppy left. She was the runt and came running out of the dog house last. I fell in love with her and knew right then that I had to have her. We took her home without having so much as a dog bowl. She has horrible allergies, and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that she was weened waaay to early, but she is my baby.
That's funny about the bird. Something similar happened to my aunt and uncle. They are big fans of birds and had four. One day, a friend of my family was out walking, and this bird landed on her shoulder. She called my aunt freaking out because she didn't know what to do. My aunt agreed to house the bird and they called local vets and posted signs in the neighborhood where the bird was found. They didn't want to get attached to the bird, so they started calling it L.B (for Lost Bird). No one has ever claimed the bird and it's been almost two years, so they changed his name to Elby. He's a sweet bird, and I don't remember what kind he is, but my aunt said he is very expensive. It's some sort of parrot. Whomever his previous owners are, they spoke Spanish because this bird occasionally speaks Spanish and my uncle has a friend who is Spanish. He came over one day and started talking around the bird who got very, very animated. My aunt says she wishes she could find the owners because she knows that this bird misses them, even though they take very good care of him.
I hope it all works out for you and your bird, BerryBaby. |
