Talking Halloween Ideas

My favorite holiday is next month....Halloween! I just love reading all the magazines with the holiday cupcakes, decorating and costume ideas.

Wish I was still a room parent so I could go crazy with a Halloween party! I miss those days.

Anyone have any great food or decorating ideas?

Was reading Real Simple magazine and told my husband I had the perfect costume for him. He is not into getting dressed up for the holiday, but this was easy.

A hammer in one hand, a quarter in another....wha-la! You are a Quarter Pounder!

And, if you want to get fancy, hold a wrapped Kraft single with the quarter and you would be a Quarter Pounder with cheese. (I added this...just felt right.)

BB why not volunteer at a local elementary school I am sure they would love to have you. I do not know if they still do the Halloween parties, with all the politically correct stuff now days. Oh well it was a thought

I have thought of it, however with all the negative news on people working with children, it doesn't seem worth the effort. A very, sad, sign of our times.

Halloween is becoming my favorite holiday as well. I used to be christmas, but that holiday is becoming so long and dragged out, that Halloween and Thanksgiving are much more enjoyable to me.

Mine use to be Christmas as well but the advertising and hype have dampened my enthusiasm.

I saw a Christmas commercial in August on TV!! That is getting ridiculous. Why can't they wait until after Thanksgiving like they use to do back in the 50's? It made it seem so much more special.

Ditto! When I was a kid you didn't even start thinking about Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. Now you start seeing some things for the season as early as July! Thanks to the people commercializing it, for ruining what use to be the best holiday of the year.

I love Halloween too, but the DH doesn't. I've been wanting to throw a Halloween party for years, but the DH turns Scrooge on me each time I mention it. I use to have fun with it at my store... My employees and I would dress up for it each year, decorate the store and had treats for all the customers that day. Was a wee bit hard tho loading 50 lb. bags of black oil sunflower into a customer's car while wearing your costume.
