World's Championship Chili Cookoff

International Chili Society's 43rd annual World's Championship Chili Cookoff is in Charleston, WV this weekend! Since I'm not a member or competitor, I had to find away to participate. I ended up voluneteering with the MS Society to serve chili.

I found out the chili cooks call the gals who serve it up, chili wenches. I loved it!

The cook I was paired with came from Martha's Vineyard and grew up in Boston. He was super cool, gave me some tips on making chili and a let me take home some of his chili and spices.

The day started beautifully...

We have a Soccer Tourney today. So far they are still going ahead with it.

Well looked like the rain was still vertical, most of ours was horizontal yesterday and almost all day long. Nasty cold yucky good sleeping rainy weather zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........

No rain here... yet. We're suppose to have T-storms Sunday and Monday. Well, at least it's suppose to cool off.

The Simpsons writers must have been to a chili cookoff! The guys next to the booth I was working said chili cooks were borderline alcoholics. This was from a man who put Jack Daniels in his competetion chili
