Ew! DeForest Jarvis invented this honey and vinegar mixture, called Honegar. He claimed it helped with aches and pains. Life.com called it "a cure for lack of nausea."

Actually vinegar and honey do work to cure a lot of ailments.

Usually, though, you just mix a teaspoon of honey with a bit of unfiltered apple cider vinegar. It's a very old remedy and my dad swore by it. Mix it in a cup of hot water.

Right now, I'm into Manuka honey to help prevent the flu. It's spendy, but I feel amazing. One teaspoon a day is all it takes.

I have a whole book on cures using apple cider vinegar...it's fascinating.
