Charleston Pastamaker Scores Whole Foods Distribution

Local pastamaker scores Whole Foods distribution

Brian Bertolini hits big time

Farmer's market favorite Rio Bertolini's fresh handmade pasta will soon make its debut in Whole Foods stores.

Pasta maker Brian Bertolini has been in contact with the Whole Foods headquarters in Alabama, which is in the process of removing another pasta brand from their stores and replacing with Rio Bertolini. The entire assortment of pastas, raviolis, and gnocchis will be available in Whole Foods soon, but an exact date is not yet set.

In the meantime, Rio Bertolini's pasta can be found at the downtown and Mt. Pleasant Farmer's markets, Ted's Butcherblock, Burbage's Grocery, and James Island, Mt. Pleasant, and West Ashley Piggly Wiggly Stores.

I pick his pasta up at The Pig. It's good eats.

You better hope they eventually don't demand exclusive rights. I hate it when that happens, because if Kroger doesn't get it, I am out of luck.
