Thanksgiving Menu What's on your menu for Thanksgiving Dinner? Going with tradition or something new?
How many are going to bake their own pie?
We are having relatives from out-of-town and sticking with the traditional menu.
Roasted turkey with sage dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, creamed onions, relishes, rolls and pumpkin pie.
Oh, and a nice Pinot Gris.
Just a good ol' traditional menu.BerryBaby

I've been asked to make most of the things that I made last year.
Turkey (with Alton's brine), mashed potatoes, honey ginger glazed carrots, praline sweet potatoes, stuffing, geen bean casserole, cranberry relish, and homemade rolls.
Dessert is still up in the air, it will likely be pumpkin cheesecake, pecan pie, pumpkin pie or whatever is requested.
This is by far my favorite meal of the year to cook!MAC

I am going to quit planning meals every time I do, it gets changed. Maybe some one else can do the cooking, I am getting tired of being told I cook to much food, I do not cook what they like, and when I fix what they like they do not like the way I fixed it. I have tried in the past and everything I want to fix they do not like, maybe I will just cook a steak and to heck with all the other stuff.
some times people do not realize how much they can ruin a holiday with their snide little comments.
prepared with passion and served with love !

Mom always gets thanksgiving. I usually make the sweet potato casserole and rolls. Sometimes a dessert.

Tomorrow I'm doing a cooking demo for a group of 40, and all of my recipes i created for the demo are 30 min. recipes, except for the cornish hens. The menu is (brined) roasted cornish hens (spatchcocked) with butternut squash risotto, roasted root vegetables (parsnips, fingerling potatoes, carrots and sweet potatoes) and carmelized leeks. The leftover dish is going to be a cornish hen and cranberry ravioli with sage butter.

I LOVE cooking for Thanksgiving! I usually stick with traditional. Last year Erik was telling me that he had never had a traditional Thanksgiving before. Since he's an only child & his mom cooked mostly casseroles for every meal he said they would either just go out or have shrimp. So, I was surprised when I put all the food out & he said "I've never had a real Thanksgiving before".
This year my menu is:
Turkey
Sage Stuffing
Kahlua soaked sweet potatoes
Garlic & rosemary mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole
Corn casserole
Pumpkin fritters
Rolls
And I have yet to figure out dessert yet
And of course, plenty of wine!Jenn

Applewood smoked boneless turkey breast.
Praline sweet potatoes.
Green bean casserole.
Yeast rolls.
Country cornbread & sausage dressing.
Pecan pie with fresh whipped cream.
Going in the hospital on Nov. 24th to have the rest of my thyroid removed, so I'm preparing my dishes ahead of time and freezing them. That way, on Turkey Day I'll just have to bake the sides. I'm not not missing Thanksgiving because I've got too much too be thankful about this year!
