Miami Auditions

I went to the Miami auditions today for Next Food Network Star. It wasn't quite what I had expected. I arrived about 1.5 hours early, expecting at least a little bit of a line, but there was only one other person there. By the time the auditions started, there were only about 4 people. I'm not sure if others trickled in throughout the day or not - I was done by 10 a.m. and auditions ran until 3 p.m.

They started early and gave us 3 minutes to talk a little bit about ourselves. My interview was probably closer to 5 minutes.

They told us call backs would come via phone tonight and if chosen, we would have to come back tomorrow to demonstrate cooking.

No call yet, so I'm assuming I didn't make it through.

It was a very long day, but I'm so glad I went and gave it a try

Was there anyone there from the network that you recognized or was it just some field workers?

I didn't recognize anyone, so I'm not sure if I was meeting with a producer or a screener. Both of the ladies conducting the interview were really nice - super nice, but I'm not sure who they were.

At least you can say you did it, no matter what happens. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Even if this doesn't work out, I'm going to pursue it via a blog or cable access in our area.

I started a blog a while back but I didn't really care for the software. I am just more of a forum kind of person I think. I just didn't enjoy keeping up the blog the way I do this site. I still have the site up but I never add to it. I should probably sell it.

I also run a message board...but not for food, it's for artists. It's definitely hard work to keep it updated, etc. but I love it. I don't think I could maintain another board though, so I'm going to stick with the blog concept for now.

Boy, what would we do without the Internet?! I love it!
