Christmas Cards

Well, I got out the Christmas card list this week and took inventory of the Christmas cards. Got a great deal at Hallmark after Christmas last year and bought the most beautiful cards.

Can you believe we already received a Christmas card? A dear friend sent one early to let everyone know her new address. She moved to a retirement complex this summer...90 years young and plays golf twice a week!

I did this last year and again this year. Had postage stamps made with Sophie's photo on them. This way I don't have to enclose a photo, she is on the card!

After Thanksgiving the time really starts to fly.

Hope all of you have a wonderful holiday!!

Thanks.

We usually don't send them. When it gets to a point where you would have to send them out to an entire military division it's just too expensive. And if you send to some but not others it can be worse than not sending at all.

Though I still hard copy a lot of mail, we don't do Christmas cards much any more. (I hope my Mother isn't watching )

Hi, Suzie!

I can understand your list would probably be huge! Most all the friends we send to live out of state or don't know each other. It's just our way of keeping in touch even if it is once a year.

Believe it or not, I enjoy reading the 'news' letters people enclose. Not too many brag or get all gushy anymore. Families are getting older so many times it is about their travels and adventures throughout the year.

One year I didn't enclose any current 'news' letter and boy, was I surprised. Friends wrote and asked why I didn't enclosed one! So, even though this year it is going to be brief, I will write a little something.

We have a couple of people who send us those, but they are people we never see anymore. We know them from YEARS ago. One is an old neighbor and another had a job connected with one of my previous employers. I didn't even know her well when I did see her. I probably wouldn't recognize one of them if I passed them on the street after all these years. But I still get the newsletter.

I like sending Christmas cards. Last year I sent one to the Pope and the President. I have to remember to do that again this year. I bought some cards online a month or two ago, but I'll need more. Not sure if I want to order more from the same place or just buy some more from the store. Maybe the store is better now that its getting close to Thanksgiving.

I enjoy sending Christmas Cards, but I'm such a scatterbrain sometimes and I always forget and then it's too late. I do give out cards with a candy cane attached to my co-workers and I have a few close friends who live far away I send cards and gifts to.

I'm going to sign the cards today and watch Christmas Vacation. Maybe even make hot chocolate to make it more festive.

My husband will usually just take something into the office for the people who work for him at his civilian job. The seem to like that because it's usually something you eat. You can't eat a card.
