Who uses the self check-out at grocery store?

As the food shopping world turns
Buffalo News, United States - 2 hours ago
There was a big uproar about it, but it happened anyway. I’m still not crazy about the idea, but I’ve learned to live with it. The food shopping world ...

I used one this morning for the first time....I got stuck...

It depends on how much I am getting. If it's just a few things I will scan them to get going quicker.

I really enjoy using it. It is fast, easy and I never have to wait in line.

The only thing I wish is that they would offer the choice of paper or plastic. Right now it is only plastic. I take all the plastic bags to the recycle center, but would prefer paper.

I like it, but we usually end up screwing up, laughing and waiting for the checkout helper to come over.

I use 'em, and enjoy the zippy checkout. I can wave my packages just as fast as those kids, and if there's a problem (like removal of the alcohol purchase alarm/cap), a person is over there to help me right away. In fact, the last time through I scanned something not in the computer yet, and the lady says "Oh, let me help--wait, I think thats half off---yup, I'll correct that", and Bingo, $$$ in my pocket.

They only sell beer and wine in our grocery stores and we don't have those things on it. The register/computer only asks that ID's be checked and the person comes over and hits some code so you can continue.

We only have beer and wine at grocery stores here as well. In PA you can only buy alcohol at special stores that only sell beer wine and spirits. You can't get any of those in grocery stores there.

They type in a birth date here, even if you don't show an ID. Some of them are very kind.
