Christmas Dinner
Has anyone purchased the ingredients for their Christmas dinner yet?
We are going to have rib roast but thought I would wait to buy it. This year 'prime' beef is back. I thought the government didn't rate any meat 'prime' any more.
Clove, do you have any info on this? There was a big article in our newspaper yesterday saying 'prime' roast rib roast are available this year. I saw them in the store, but wondered if this was true. They were right next to the 'choice' roasts and, honestly, I looked closely at both and didn't visibly see any difference, except the price was $6.00 more per pound.

Oh no they still have prime. It usually goes to your upscale resturants, but your local burcher can get it he just doesn't because of the price. I won't buy anything lower than choice and given the oppurtunity I would buy the prime. My $.02.

Think I'm going to splurge and get a prime roast, seeing as they are offering them at many of the stores this year.
This is yet another favorite meal. I make Yorkshire Pudding and creamed spinach with the roast...a true smell and taste of Christmas!BerryBaby

I have decided on tenderloin steak and shrimp, I am also going to do pulled pork because it's one of my husband's favorites and he doesn't like shrimp.

I am going Sunday and see what they have, I won't be too picky about it with that cut it's usually good. If they have prime I will get it, but most likely around here it will be choice.
